December 1, 2009 Greetings, fellow chess players: Here are the final results, with prizes, in the Under 1500 Section of the 2009 NBCC Championship Qualifying Tournament. This was a separate sectioned tournament held concurrently with the general preliminary event. Congratulations to John Twombley and George Himes III for winning the event. Of significant note, this is John's first time winning a major tournament at the NBCC. Excellent job, John! The tournament was directed by NBCC Chief Tournament Director, Randy Shane. He will be submitting the results to the USCF for rating today, December 12, and will be be presenting the awards on Tuesday, December 15. Thanks to all who played in this section. Best regards, Bob Kozlowski
