| Event Description: Bye Policy
Players may request one half-point bye in any round, but must give notice to the tournament directors prior to that round.
The organizers will delay the tournament as needed in the case of inclement weather.
Entry Fee
Members - $15, $13 for students or seniors 50 and older; $3 more for non-members
Prizes
There will be prizes awarded to place and prizes winners in each section and will be determined by the second round. |

I am forwarding the final standings with prizes from Randy Shane for the 4th annual Oktoberfest Open Chess Championship recently held at the New Britain Chess Club. The prizes will be awarded next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Congratulations to FM Nelson Castaneda and George Himes for taking first place in their respective sections. Of special note, this is George's first win in a major NBCC tournament.
This tournament was directed by Emily Pond, Al Pinto, and Randy Shane.
