Danny Rozovsky (age 13) won first place in Pan American Youth Chess Championship back in August (held in Mar del Plata, Argentina) in the Under 14 age group, earning the prestigious title of FIDE Master. He then played in the 2009 World Youth Chess Championship (held in Antalya, Turkey) in the Under 14 age group, only ONE OF THREE players from the United States in his section. He took first place and brought home a gold medal.

Our youngest club member, Danny Pascetta (age 10), became the 2009 New England Middle School Chess Champion, going undefeated (6-1) in the seven-round tournament held in Windsor Locks, Connecticut on October 31 and November 1. For his impressive tournament result, besides winning a beautiful trophy, young Pascetta also received free entry into all Continental Chess tournaments until May 2010.
